Chignik Lagoon Community Wide Mold Control PresentationThe Chignik Lagoon IGAP conducted an intensive research campaign to gather the latest and most current information available on mold prevention as well as remediation efforts. Our research included talking to a company whose expertise was on prevention and remediation as well as pulling the latest research data rom online resources from sites such as the EPA, and the Alaska DEC.
A demonstration project was carried out by the Chignik Lagoon school students to continue this education. Their experiment was on display at the district wide science fair that was held in April 2016. They were also presented with an Award of Merit from UAA's Project for Science in the Community. A class was conducted in hopes that all community members would receive this valuable information about mold in homes and also to prevent harmful molds from affecting many who have health problems. A PowerPoint was created for the class and in an effort to reach all community members in the Bristol Bay Region we have posted it on our website.
